On 24 January the parish centre hosted a meeting with Valentin Postnikov, a children's writer, son of the writer Yuri Mikhailovich Postnikov (pseudonym - Yuri Druzhkov), the author of the well-known books about Pencil and Samodelkin and the book "Magic School".
The kind and resourceful wizards Pencil and Samodelkin were known to millions of young readers in the Soviet Union: they appeared in every issue of the magazine "Veselye Kartinki", whose monthly circulation reached 9.5 million copies.
Valentin Postnikov decided to continue his father's work and composed new stories about Pencil and Samodelkin, whose adventures unfold this time in the country of chocolate trees - in Africa!
"Can anything compare to Africa! Africa is the most mysterious continent on earth," says one of the heroes of a Russian writer. - It is home to the most amazing animals, insects and birds in the world.
At the meeting with Valentin Postnikov, big and small readers learnt how ideas for children's stories are born, tried their hand at being writers and had the opportunity to buy one of the author's many books with his personal autograph and good wishes.
