On 9 February 2025 in the Sunday school of the Cathedral of St. Sergius of Radonezh in the city of Johannesburg was held a master class in the framework of the international flash mob project "Carnation of Victory"!
In 79 countries of the world, young compatriots created with their own hands a symbol of memory and gratitude - the Victory Carnation! This large-scale project reminded many people of their historical roots, and for some it allowed them to feel connected to the past of their nation for the first time.
In South Africa, the most active participants were, of course, the children! With great diligence they tried to create a perfect paper carnation from the first time. It was difficult, but there were always parents around, who also joined in the creative process, as well as Mother Elena, who helped each child with warmth and attention.
The event was organised by Danil and Olga Kolesnikovs, leaders of the youth and patriotic movement of CSRS South Africa.
The project united people from all over the world, and in Johannesburg it united compatriots even more in a warm family atmosphere. After all, it is important not only to remember history, but also to pass it on to the next generation.
